Travel Allied (Radiation Therapist) - Radiation Therapy

Required Skills/Experience:
3-5 years of experience specific to Radiation Oncology is required.
Experience using the Varian True Beam treatment machine in conjunction with Mosaiq is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
5 years of Radiation Oncology experience is most preferred.
Accuray Radixact experience is preferred but not required.
CT simulation experience is preferred.
Experience with the Siemens CT Simulator GO.PRO scanner is preferred.

Required Credentials:
Graduation from a Radiation Therapy program that will allow the graduate to sit for Radiation Therapist (T) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Special Requests:
You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler.
Time off of up to 7 days may be taken without manager approval; the assignment must be extended to accommodate a full 13-week contract.

Unit Details:
Radiation oncology patients are seen in both inpatient and outpatient settings; 98-99% of the population is outpatient, and inpatients are brought down by a transport team from the attached Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.
The department sees an average of 65 patients per day.
The department treats all types of cancer, including, but not limited to, lung, breast, brain, head/neck, GYN, metastatic disease and lymphomas.
Patient ratios are 2:1, with 2 therapists per treatment machine and 3 therapists on the True Beam; CT simulation is 2:1, with 2 therapists per CT simulation.
Treatments include SRS, SBRT and VMAT.
The unit uses Mosaiq Record and Verify software.
Equipment includes a Varian True Beam treatment machine, Accuray Radixact and a Siemens CT Simulator GO.PRO scanner.

Floating Requirements:
May float to support the department by providing transport; if this occurs, the therapist will always be with 1 other therapist and never alone.

Shift & Scheduling:
No weekend rotation.
No call is required. If interested in on-call support, inform the supervisor.
No holidays.
