Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.
Unit Details:
The unit cares for patients with all types of cancer diagnoses.
Clinical responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, blood components, fluid/electrolyte replacements, and oncology treatments; assessing patient conditions; managing side effects; and offering emotional support to patients and their families.
Most of our HemOnc patients remain in a 3 (pts) – 1 (nurse) ratio; if we have med/surg patients on the unit, this may fluctuate to 4 – 1.
Shift & Scheduling:
12-hour day or night shifts.
