Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: Telemetry - remote monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Gastrointestinal case skills/experience: Colostomy care, feeding tube care and management.
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience: Accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs.
• Medication experience: Heparin, insulin, PCA.
• Neurological/psychiatric case skills/experience: CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury.
• Experience with surgical drains required.
• Respiratory case skills/experience: Chest tubes - Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, pre/post thoracic surgery, tracheostomy management.
• Professional knowledge and skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac.
• Continuous bladder irrigation experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Special Requests:

• RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.

Unit Details:

• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Neuro patient population.

Shift & Scheduling:

• 4x12 or 3x12s nights (1800-0630).
• Will work every other weekend.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Will float as needed.
