Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• Pulmonary patient care experience required.
• 24 months of current Med-Surg/Medical Surgical experience required.
• Recent/current charge experience required.
• First-time travelers are accepted if the 2+ year Med-Surg experience requirement is met.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience caring for pulmonary/ventilated patients, including BiPAP and trach care, is highly preferred.

Special Requests:

• Former UnityPoint Health (UPH) employees who were FTEs or PRN members of the UPH float pool cannot work travel in another market, regardless of which facility they currently work at or have worked at within the past 12 months. If they worked travel at UPH rather than as an FTE or PRN employee, this separation policy does not apply.

Unit Details:

• Patient population includes pulmonary and medical-surgical patients.
• Common drips include heparin.
• May care for COVID-positive patients.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 48 hours per week; 36 hours per week can be accommodated if preferred.
• No call.
• Weekend rotation may be every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing/census.
• Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays.

Floating Requirements:

• Travelers are required to float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
