Required Skills/Experience: Oncology/chemo experience required. MS experience required. Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required. Administration of chemotherapy; accessing/managing ports; administration of blood and blood products; central line blood draw; central line/implanted line care; PICC line care; starting and maintaining IVs; antibiotics; antiemetics; Foley catheter insertion/management; isolation precautions; telemetry interpretation; telemetry monitoring.
Required Credentials: Relias EKG exam required. Clinicians who obtained their RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold a MO, IL, or Compact license require an extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. BMT oncology patients including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and management of complications from blood cancers (GVHD, etc.). Auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required.
Floating Requirements: Floating is required throughout the oncology department within the service line as needed and clinicians will be floated to the unit with the greatest need per shift. Will not always be working specifically on 9800 unit.
