Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year preferred.
  • CVICU experience preferred.

Unit Details:

  • Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies. Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.
  • Epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV Glucommander, and cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine).
  • Uses Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • No call.
  • Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6 week schedule period.
  • Flexible to work holiday.

Floating Requirements:

  • Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1:6).
