Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.

Required Credentials: No license or background hits.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling.

Unit Details: Med/Surg Neuro patients include strokes, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery patients, and other Med/Surg overflow. Common patient population includes joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. Required to titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; PCA pumps are common. No RT equipment troubleshooting. Tele techs interpret strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. This unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day.

Shift & Scheduling: At least every other weekend, but additional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs and census. 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's.

Floating Requirements: Float to other medical-surgical areas or units with Med/Surg patients waiting for a Med/Surg bed.
