Additional Details:
RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Scrub experience for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular and circulate required. 2 years required; will consider 1 year if Level 1 trauma facility. First-time travelers accepted only if more than 2 years experience in a Level 1 trauma facility. Heart and lung transplant experience is needed for night shift. Teaching hospital experience is required.
Special Requests: Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility; local candidates are not accepted. No medical marijuana cards accepted.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. Cardio-thoracic, cardiovascular OR. Cardiac and thoracic cases primarily. Vascular (Open and Endovascular Procedures), Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas), Whipples (Pancreatic Procedures). Department is fast paced, with emergent cases. All staff are responsible for entering missing instruments into the CensiTrac system.
Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. M-F. Start times: rotating shift times as needed. Call required: As needed, can be more or less than 3-4 weekday, weeknight, and 1-2 call weekend shifts per 6 week schedule, depending on unit needs. Official turnaround time is 40 minutes from call to clock-in. Our max time for emergency cases is 60 min from case request to into the OR time so being in the room and setting up within 40 minutes is best. No more than 7 days of RTO. Holidays as needed, discussed in advance.
Floating Requirements: Will float within service line.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
