Travel Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• Crisis intervention: providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis, including suicidal ideation and aggression, with de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Assessing patients' mental health status, including recognizing psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems; taking thorough histories, observing behavior, and using diagnostic tools.
• Developing individualized care plans for patients with mental health and behavioral issues, including setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
• Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions; knowledge of psychotropic medications.

Unit Details:

• ADOL serves patients ages 12-18. Serenity and VINE are lower-acuity adult units. ITU is a higher-acuity adult unit for patients with thought disorder diagnoses. SRAD serves patients with a senior lifestyle.
• Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Includes weekend coverage. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.

Floating Requirements:

• Utilized where the greatest need is across ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE.
