Required Skills/Experience: 1 year MRI experience minimum, will accept acute or outpatient.
Unit Details: Patient population ranges from 5-year-old to geriatric; pediatrics are done during the day, and rare NICU infant brain bleed cases may be seen. Common exams/cases include stroke, IAC, pituitary, feet, abdomen, brain, total spine, defecography, urograms, and enterography; devices are scheduled on Wednesdays during the day, with Medtronic devices available 24h. Responsibilities include setting up suction, operating O2, MRI safety screening for what can and cannot go into the bore with the patient, handling critical/vented patients with ICU RN and RT accompaniment, placing patients on MR tele, and administering contrast. Night shift works as the solo MRI tech with MRI assistant support. Department support includes transporter until 2300, MRI assistant for days/nights, lead MRI tech available by phone at night, offsite radiologist reading 24/7, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, and rapid response/code team. Uses Medirad MRI IV pump, ViewPACS, GE Cigna Artist 1.5, and MR 400 tele monitor.
Shift & Scheduling: M-Th set schedule. Night shift orientation includes 1 week of days and 1 week of nights. On-call 1 weekend per month, Friday night – Monday morning, with 1 hour response time. Every other holiday. RTO up to 7 days.
