Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Limited block scheduling may be approved.

Unit Details: Med/Surg Neuro unit caring for med/surg telemetry patients including stroke patients, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery patients, and other med/surg overflow. Common patient populations/cases include joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. RNs titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; PCA pumps are used. Tele techs interpret strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. No respiratory therapy equipment troubleshooting. Mechanical lifts in every other room. Fast-paced unit with multiple discharges and admissions in one day. Serves patients from diverse cultures, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese populations.

Shift & Scheduling: Travelers will be scheduled. At least every other weekend, but additional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs and census. 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's.

Floating Requirements: Floating to other medical-surgical areas or units with Med/Surg patients waiting for a Med/Surg bed.
