Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to recover and hold ventilator patients. Must provide care to patients of all ages. Ventilator, art line, foley, chest tubes, pediatric patients (1:1), assist with blocks.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Able to handle ICU-level patients for recovery and hold beds.
Unit Details: Patient ratios are usually 2:1 except for pediatric or ICU-level patients. Uses ventilators, glucose monitoring, bladder scanners, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and wound vacs. Service lines include general, robotics, bariatrics, ortho, podiatry, ENT, urology, vascular (thoracic and vascular cases only; no open heart or cath lab), neuro, GYN, endo, and pulmonology. No c-sections or suction D&C cases; these are performed in labor and delivery.
Shift & Scheduling: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday schedule. Weekends required at least once, possibly twice, during the 13-week travel period; dates will be coordinated. 11p-7am call every other week, scheduled on a workday such as Tuesday so recovery can occur on Wednesday.
Floating Requirements: Float between pre-op and PACU.
