Travel Allied (Surgical Assistant) - Operating Room

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Acute Inpatient OR, Minimum two years as a Surgical Assistant, not Surgical Technologist. 1 previous travel assignment required. Outpatient OR experience required. Endocrine surgery required.

Required Credentials: For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Surgery cases include bariatrics, ortho/spine, ortho/total joints, robotics, thoracic, orthopedic, ankle fusion, trauma, urology, and endocrine surgery. Uses electrosurgical units.

Shift & Scheduling: On call with weekend/holiday rotation, one weekend every 8 weeks, both Saturday and Sunday from 0630-1530. Start Date: 7/06, 07/20
