Travel Nurse (RN) - Step Down Unit

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed. If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Step-down experience on medical surgical unit required.

Special Requests:

• Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system.
• Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years.
• Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years.
• Travel teams must be submitted together.

Unit Details:

• Ratios: step-down 3:1; floor 5-6:1.
• Patient population includes nephrology, urology, medicine, and renal transplant.
• Must titrate drips including Cardizem, Nicardipine, Insulin, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Lasix.
• Uses CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and vents with floor settings for trach patients.
• All step-down patients are telemetry monitored; monitor techs monitor these patients.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible scheduling.
• One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per 4-week schedule.
• Rotating holidays.
• No call requirement.

Floating Requirements:

• Can be floated to other medical/surgical units.
