Shift & Scheduling:

  • The weekend rotation is usually 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks.
  • Call is usually about 3-4 call shifts/month. If it's your turn to take weekend call, Fri/Sat/Sun would count as 3 call shifts for the month. Manager said that they don't get called out that much. Most of their call time tends to be at the end of the day & rarely goes past 7 pm. If someone has to stay late, it is usually at the end of the day. This could happen maybe twice/week on their heavy ortho days. For example, they only had 1 case on the weekend the entire month of February. They rarely get called. Call is very easy here. Call shifts are 7a-7p Mon-Fri. 24 hours Sat and Sun. The weekends are rotated with a weekend call every 7-8 weeks (approximately). On average four to five 12-hour call shifts and one weekend in an eight week period. 30 minute response time - but must be dressed & ready to work within 30 minutes.
  • Holidays are covered by call.
