Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience required.
• Must be proficient in vein and radial harvest.

Required Credentials:

• RNFA required.

Preferred Credentials:

• BSN preferred.

Unit Details:

• Travelers will be doing vein harvesting.
• Role includes RN first-assist intraoperative care in collaboration with the surgeon during invasive and operative procedures.
• First-assist duties include retracting, clamping, cutting and tying bleeders, utilizing cautery as directed, suturing fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin, and instilling irrigation solution under physician direction.
• Role includes sterile field maintenance, sponge, sharps and instrument counts, decontamination, equipment and supply management, and physiologic monitoring during surgery.
• Patient population includes pediatrics through geriatrics.

Shift & Scheduling:

• 7-330 M-F schedule flexes 530-1400 depending on case load and if the clinician is on call.
• On-call on average every third day and every third weekend, but that is variable (averages 2 days per week).
