Required Skills/Experience:
RNs must be comfortable troubleshooting and assisting with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high-flow equipment as needed.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 experience, or experience in a more rural setting, is preferred.

Special Requests:
Former employees must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well.
Previous employment must be disclosed on the resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
If previously employed by Marshfield, the employment end date must be at least 6 months before the submission date.
Block scheduling is not guaranteed; longer blocks of 6 shifts may be considered when able, and self-scheduling may be accommodated.

Unit Details:
The IMC ratio is 3:1 depending on acuity.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, septic shock, detoxification, DKA, A-fib, and arrhythmias requiring pacing. Ventilator management is a key part of the unit's clinical work. The unit does not handle pulmonology or dialysis and does not perform cardiac surgery.
Limited resources are available onsite: there is no IV team, and respiratory therapy oversees the entire hospital.
RNs titrate drips; common titratable or set-rate drips include Levophed, propofol, Cardizem, esmolol, and insulin.
Charge nurses take a full assignment.
Hospitalist or intensivist coverage is in house until 6pm daily; ICU tele-physician coverage is used at night.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 but is not housed in the ICU.
Respiratory equipment includes ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow.
RNs verify telemetry strips and also monitor and sign off on the MS-unit strips; training is provided if needed.

Shift & Scheduling:
Day and night shifts rotate.
Shift times: 0700-1900 and 1900-0700.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Holiday requirement: 2/3 holidays.
There is potential to be placed on call/standby.

Floating Requirements:
Must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg/Telemetry; ratios will be considered, but ratios of 1:3-6 may be assigned.
