Travel Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Unit

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• 1 year Cardiac Tele, inpatient only.
• Reading telemetry.
• Experience with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients.
• Amio and Cardizem drips.
• Central lines (HD caths, ports, PICCs).

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation.
• Potential for dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips.
• Chest tubes and other drains.
• CIWA (withdrawal) protocol.

Special Requests:

• Blocked scheduling (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements.
• RTO of 5 days or less must make up the week on the back end.
• Holiday RTO: can request only 1 per assignment.

Unit Details:

• Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit.
• Monitor techs watch patients; there are also tele monitors at each nurse station.
• Patient population includes CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (mostly AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients; overflow patients include sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds.
• Uses lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
• Weekends as required by facility/every other weekend.
• Call Requirements: None.
• Night shift orients on day shift. Traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.

Floating Requirements:

• As needed, to a similar or lower acuity unit.
