Required Credentials: Self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test-out will be given the first week of assignment and must be passed to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
Unit Details: Adult and geriatric Med/Surg/Telemetry patients. Role may include work on both Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation. Not part of a regular call rotation, but may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census; if called in, must be able to arrive on-site within one hour.
Floating Requirements: May be required to float to Fort Madison or Henry County campus at times. Floating is always required for non-critical care inpatient units, including to the Emergency Department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may occasionally float to CCU.
