Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding. Open-book pass/fail exam on Friday during orientation; must score 90% to pass.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. 50-mile radius rule applies. RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, PCU 1:4-5, and MS 1:5-6. Adult and pediatric patients older than 15 years. Common cases include neuro surgery with thrombectomy program, respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure with CRRT, general surgery, psych/overdose, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries including esophagectomy and internal chemo administration. Uses CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser, and Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. No monitor techs; RNs read and interpret their own strips. Fast-paced tertiary unit with variable volumes; works closely with attendings, fellows, and residents.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holiday requirement: 2 out of 3 major holidays or every other/as needed based on unit needs. Schedule is made by the manager based on unit needs.
Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.
