If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: 1 year of experience in the specialty is required, as well as 2-3 previous travel assignments. Experience and proficiency with assisting in orthopedics required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Ortho/Neuro experience preferred.
Required Credentials: CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Assistant graduate required. ABSA certifications not accepted.
Special Requests: Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Travel pairs must be submitted together. Block scheduling may be allowed if it meets the needs of the unit.
Unit Details: All surgical cases except open heart; high volume of neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general, and ENT cases; no vascular at this time but expected in August. Must be able to work in the surgical tech role as needed.
Shift & Scheduling: Fri/Sat/Sun. Weekend and weeknight call rotations. Call is 1 x 12hr shift per week with possibility of additional if needed and 1 x 24hr call shift per month for weekends; the 24hr weekend call shift can be split into 2 x 12hr shifts. Weekday call shifts are 7p-7a or 7p-11p. Weekend call shifts can be 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 7p-11p, and 7a-7a. Holiday call coverage as needed. Call response time is 20 minutes; if they are more than 20 minutes away and on call, they are required to stay.
Floating Requirements: Float to outpatient surgery as needed.
