Required Skills/Experience: Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required. Must have telemetry experience. Experience with chest tubes, tubes, drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, complex wounds, and central line care/maintenance with blood draws required.
Unit Details: Primarily medical rather than surgical patients, including sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound issues, and acute/chronic respiratory illness including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis. Adult cystic fibrosis patients requiring admission are cared for on Medical Specialties.
Shift & Scheduling: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. On-call required.
