References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Peripheral and line blood draws and IV placements. IV therapy/phlebotomy. Blood product administration. Central line blood draw. Peripheral line care/management. PICC line management/maintenance. Starting IVs. Access/care of mediport lines.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities.
Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Hematology malignancies, including multiple myeloma, chronic leukemia, and lymphoma; pre- and post-BMT/CAR-T transplant. Drawing labs, placing peripheral IVs, accessing ports and PICC lines, line dressings, EKGs, and injections/immunizations. Chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
