Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have more than 3 years of experience with solid MedSurg or Tele background with preferred stroke experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Ortho/spine/stroke experience is preferred; neuro experience is a plus.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Previous employee exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details:

  • Uses Epic.
  • Patient population includes stroke, spine/back surgeries, neck and cranial surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barré, myasthenia gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring; travelers usually do not take cranial surgeries.
  • Neuroscience NPs provide 24/7 support for neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients.
  • Serves a large geographic area and is the only site for neuro surgery.
  • RT equipment/resources include CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and trachs.
  • No titratable drips.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekends as needed.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • Nights are often scheduled 3 in a row when possible, but this is not guaranteed.
  • No call.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas; travelers are first to float.
