Travel Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Required Skills/Experience:

• Charge experience required.
• Previous travel experience is required; 1 travel assignment suffices.

Special Requests:

• Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.
• Reliable transportation is required; personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended because public transportation is not accessible in this area.
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during the months of November-April.

Unit Details:

• Cares for patients from newborn to geriatric.
• Uses Pyxis medication system, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Ranger blood warmer.
• Unit responsibilities and procedures include ESI triage, IV insertion, drips/infusions, performing EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports.
• STEMI, stroke, trauma, and higher-acuity pediatric patients are transported to a higher level of care and may require RN transport.
• Utilizes telemedicine and telestroke consultations through UVMMC.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend minimum and/or schedule adjusted to meet the needs of the unit and patient care.
• Travelers must work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Years Day.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
