Required Skills/Experience:
1 year Tele or Cardiac Tele experience, inpatient only.
Reading telemetry is required.
Experience working with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients is required.
Experience with Amio and Cardizem drips is required.
Experience with central lines (HD caths, ports, and PICCs) is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation is a plus.
Experience with chest tubes and other drains is a plus.
Experience with the CIWA (withdrawal) protocol is a plus.
Special Requests:
Blocked scheduling (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements; this request must be listed on the submission form.
RTO of 5 days or less must be made up on the back end.
Holiday RTO: only 1 request per assignment.
Unit Details:
Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit.
Monitor technicians watch patients, and telemetry monitors are available at each nurses' station.
Patient population includes CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (mostly AFib, flutter, and SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients. Overflow includes sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds.
Potential for dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips.
Equipment includes lift equipment, a bladder scanner, an interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring.
Night patient ratios vary from 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates, not guarantees).
Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, as required by the facility.
No call.
Night shift orients on day shift and must be available the entire week for orientation.
Floating Requirements:
Floats as needed to a similar or lower-acuity unit.
Details:
• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
