Travel Nurse (RN) - Infection Control

In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on drivers license.
Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/TDAP declinations.

Special Requests:
Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.

Required Credentials:
Driver License is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license.
Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, and OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated every 3 years; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization; only 2 attempts allowed.

Required Skills/Experience:
A professional background as an RN, MPH, microbiologist, RT, or similarly qualified healthcare professional is required.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with Surgical Site Infection (SSI) surveillance, case review, and NHSN reporting.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with High-Level Disinfection (HLD) practices, assessments, and infection prevention oversight.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with NHSN surveillance and data entry.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with HAI surveillance, including CLABSI, CAUTI, C. difficile/LabID, MRSA bacteremia, and SSI.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with application of NHSN definitions to complex clinical cases.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with identification of infection prevention risks and opportunities for improvement.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with collaboration with procedural areas, nursing, physicians, Quality, Sterile Processing, and other clinical stakeholders.
Previous acute-care hospital Infection Prevention experience is required.
Strong working knowledge of CDC/NHSN surveillance definitions and reporting requirements is required.
The ability to independently perform surveillance, medical record review, and NHSN reporting is required.

Shift & Scheduling:
Monday-Friday schedule.
