Travel Nurse (RN) - Step Down Unit

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests:

• Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system.
• Must have a driver's license address outside 50 miles of the facility.
• Previous permanent employees must be gone for 2 years.
• Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years.
• Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
• If candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that facility.
• At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job.

Unit Details:

• 7 West includes both stepdown and floor patients.
• Ratios are 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:4-6 for Floor.
• Typical MedSurg population including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow for most services, and hospice patients who may be flipped to GIP hospice on 7 West.
• Stepdown patients may have drips; floor patients may have PCAs, heparin, and similar therapies.
• Telemetry unit; RNs must be able to read strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor techs that continuously monitor strips.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Fri-Sun.
• Holidays as scheduled.

Floating Requirements:

• Can be pulled to any floor or stepdown unit.
