Travel Nurse (RN) - Step Down Unit

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips.
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry, print strips, perform measurements, and identify rhythms.

Unit Details:

• Cardiac patients; post-pneumonia; post-cath lab; seizures; ETOH/CIWA protocol patients; pacemakers.
• RNs titrate drips including cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax.
• Day shift charge nurse typically does not take a patient assignment unless necessary; night shift charge nurse may take a lighter patient assignment.
• RT manages breathing treatments and respiratory equipment including BiPAP, Airvo, and trachs; nurses are expected to troubleshoot equipment as appropriate.
• Monitor tech available 24/7.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• Travelers can float to any inpatient unit and are first to float.
