Required Skills/Experience: 1 year of experience with this patient population.
Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding. Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation covering unit skills; minimum score 90% to pass.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios 1:4, 1:3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours. Intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients; unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Diagnoses include cath lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR, and other cardiac and vascular related diagnoses. RNs are required to titrate drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management. Remote tele techs with hardwired and tele box capabilities; RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Manager does the schedule, no block or self-scheduling. Every other weekend.
Floating Requirements: Will float to all same level and lower levels of acuity.
