Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have at least 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year of Level IV NICU. You may combine Level III and Level IV experience to reach the 2-year total, but a minimum of 1 year must be in a Level IV NICU.
  • Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Unit Details:

  • Neonate patient population.
  • Provides care for critically ill newborns, infants, and their families across the continuum of care from admission to discharge.
  • Level IV NICU in a children's hospital connected to an academic medical center.
  • Provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services for infants with a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities.
  • Cares for high-acuity neonates including prematurity; congenital heart disease; metabolic or genetic disorders; brain injury or stroke; seizures or other neurologic disorders; cases requiring MRI or cardiac catheterization; and surgical cases including abdominal, genitourinary, head and neck, thoracic, heart and vascular, or musculoskeletal procedures.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Monday through Friday, and required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period.

Floating Requirements:

  • Will float to all AFCH units including PICU to care for patients less than 12 months of age. Travelers float first.
