Must have NYS Nursing License Registration and NYS Copy of Physical License/Diploma for submission.

Individual Professional Liability coverage is mandatory for assignment duration (Only individual malpractice insurance is accepted by the facility).

Clinician must complete Additional skills section of resume with detailed description of patient pops and procedures worked for each work history.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Two (2) years of Med/Surg experience.
  • Wound and Colostomy experience.

Required Credentials:

  • Associates Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program.

Special Requests:

  • All time off and special requests should be discussed directly with managers upon arrival (no pre-approval).
  • Clinicians must start assignments within 30 days of receiving an offer.

Unit Details:

  • Conducts health assessment interviews and focused physical assessments for wound, ostomy, and continence-related care; develops plans of care based on diagnosis and individual client needs; recommends medications and treatments as appropriate.
  • Assesses and documents patient response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound treatment.
  • Routinely provides comprehensive assessments of patients at risk for developing pressure injuries and initiates preventative measures.
  • Develops, revises, and evaluates standards of care; assists in the selection of supplies, technology, and equipment.
  • Evaluates the quality and delivery of care provided by clinical staff on the unit and collaborates with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Wound Care to initiate and recommend best practices.
  • Provides patient, family, and staff education; develops and evaluates staff education programs, including new employee orientation, in-services, and continuing education.
  • Participates in unit/department and hospital-wide quality improvement activities, including incidence and prevalence studies and nursing quality.
  • Asset management related to rented equipment, including specialty beds and negative pressure devices.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • This is for 4 shifts a week (10 hours) with every other weekend.
  • Shift time: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
  • No on-call.
  • Overtime not allowed at NYCHH facilities (requires written manager approval in rare cases).
