Required Skills/Experience: 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) required. Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required. At least one completed travel assignment required.
Required Credentials: Must be able to pass EKG test 1st week of hire.
Unit Details: Intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a fast pace and high patient turnover. Cares for post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillator, ablation, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and fem-pop bypass patients.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Eligible for 36 hours of low census per contract; low census is typically taken in 4-hour increments, and travelers may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift. This is not considered to be on call.
Floating Requirements: Float to all inpatient units as needed.
