Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Trauma experience, stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered.
Special Requests: Permanent address must be 50 miles outside the home unit. RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays — must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Unit Details: Resource Team assignment. Patient population includes trauma level 3 cases such as GSW, stabbing, MVA, falls, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, patients requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, cardiac cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, respiratory illnesses, GI disorders and infections, liver failure, and AKI/CKD. Patient ratio: 1:5 max, acuity dependent. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Free Parking
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call for travelers. Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Floating Requirements: Must float per regional needs within scope of practice to Region 1 facilities, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH peds only), and any freestanding ED within the region. If floating mid-shift, traveler remains on the clock for travel time between facilities.
