Required Skills/Experience: Ability to read and verify rhythm strips. Proficiency with lab draws and peripheral IV starts. Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, and Amiodarone. Experience with BiPAP and insulin drips.
Required Credentials: Must pass EKG exam at orientation.
Preferred Credentials: Critical Care Course preferred.

Unit Details: Cardio-pulmonary progressive care unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with heart block, chronic cardiac conditions, cardiac rhythm management, and progressive cardiac care needs. All patients require continuous cardiac monitoring. Chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, temporary transvenous pacing, conscious sedation, and advanced respiratory modalities are part of the clinical scope. No vasopressor drips are utilized on this unit. Uses Alaris pumps, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, PCA pumps, GlucoStabilizer, and bedside cardiac monitors. Charge nurse typically carries a lighter assignment; travelers rarely serve as charge.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend and major holiday required.
Floating Requirements: May float within skillset to ICU for Stepdown/Progressive Care holds, Med/Surg, and ED for Stepdown or lower-acuity holds as needed. Assignments will remain within demonstrated competency and scope.
