References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience. Experience with decontamination of items including drills, Davinci, and scopes; assembly of instruments across service lines including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging; sterilization processes including Sterrad and steam; HLD/scope processing; sterile storage; OR liaison work; and CensiTrac Tracking system. Teaching hospital experience is required. OSU is a Level One trauma facility that is extremely busy and requires 3+ years of experience in a facility similar to OSU.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Community hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: No travel pairs. Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible anywhere in the system; return travelers are defined as any clinician who has taken an assignment at any location and is reapplying anywhere within the OSU umbrella. Travelers who reach the one-year maximum contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Instrumentation coordinator role responsible for preparing, sterilizing, installing, assembling, and cleaning equipment used for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. Ensures sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered aseptically. Serves as a clinical liaison between the OR and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the enterprise. Responsible for procuring and standardizing instrument trays across the enterprise. Adult patient population.

Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri. Occasional scheduled holidays.

Floating Requirements: May float to multiple reprocessing sites across the health system, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, East, and ambulatory sites such as Dublin, New Albany, EEI, Jameson Crane, and West Campus.
