Travel Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have unit/specialty experience in the past 6 months.

Required Credentials:

• Moderate conscious sedation competency required.

• Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
• Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
• Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.

Unit Details:

• Includes fast track and bedside triage.
• Common cases include trauma, MVAs, GSWs, blunt and penetrating trauma, CVA/stroke, MI/chest pain, high-risk OB, psych holds, cardioversions, and conscious sedation for closed fractures.
• 11% pediatric population; only patients age 15 or older are admitted, and younger patients are stabilized and transferred.
• Uses GE Lifepack monitors, Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators.
• Paramedics assist with IVs, IV fluids, discharges, and tech duties; CNAs perform tech duties.
• 24/7 RT and pharmacy support; ER pharmacist available on days 5 days/week.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Must be flexible to work all listed 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 10a-10p, 11a-11p, 12p-12a, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 5p-5a, and 7p-7a.
• Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule period.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during the holiday season.

Floating Requirements:

• First to float.
• Float between Gilbert and Chandler ER (7 miles/15 minutes apart), possibly mid-shifts.
• ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they'll be reporting to.
