Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: In addition to meeting the unit experience requirements, your work experience needs to reflect at least 12 months (1 year) of uninterrupted experience working in the same unit/specialty you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit. If multiple shifts are posted, only apply to your preferred shift. Housing for full duration of assignment is required at time of acceptance.

Unit Details: The incumbent must have the ability to independently complete a medical necessity review for Medicare and other non-commercial payers, and for patients in Observation, irrespective of the payer source. The candidate must be able to independently complete a 3008, PASRR, and complete referrals to SNF/HHC/ARF. Must have knowledge of Medicare conditions of participation, including the 2 midnight rule and the 3 day stay requirement for SNF discharges. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: determine the medical necessity of all admissions and the need for continued stay, identify the provision of inappropriate or untimely services, assess discharge planning needs for patients of all ages and coordinate the delivery of services to meet those needs, facilitate timely and appropriate discharges from the hospital, identify opportunities for improvement in patient care, and provide documentation of all functions as required by regulatory agencies.

Shift & Scheduling: Core hours of 8a-4p. Sat-Tues shift.
