Travel Nurse (RN) - Direct Observation Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• 1 travel assignment required.
• Recent Epic experience required; checkoff class required.
• PIV insertion and stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix).

Unit Details:

• Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, flank pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, and patients awaiting placement or geri-psych placement.
• Ratios: days 1:4-5; nights 1:5-7.
• LPN and CNA support; CN rarely takes patients on days but takes an assignment on night shift.
• May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule.
• Every other holiday.
• Flexible contract hours: 36 per week; 48-hour contracts accepted upon request.
• Weekly hours may vary during orientation week and during holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements:

• First to float within skill set to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially Deaconess Henderson. 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
