Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room

Required Skills/Experience: Candidates with strong CV experience who can circulate only will be considered; scrub ability is not an absolute requirement.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Open heart experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with a hybrid operating suite beneficial.

Required Credentials: Pass/fail open-book exam on Friday during orientation; must receive a 90% to pass.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details: Will scrub and circulate in the cardiovascular operating room that performs all open heart and vascular procedures. Vascular procedures are both open and percutaneous. Assist anesthesia with induction and transport patients from the pre-op area to PACU or the inpatient unit. Some charge responsibilities are fulfilled after hours (3-7p / 5-7p).

Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Thu schedule. Some call Monday through Thursday; maybe one shift if on the weekend, or two shifts Monday through Thursday if not on the weekend. No weekend shifts, only call coverage. Weekend call runs from 3:00 PM Friday through 6:30 AM Monday; travelers are on call every other weekend.

Floating Requirements: On lower volume days or if cases finish up in the CV OR, may be asked to float to the Main OR; this is expected of all team members, not just travelers. The true need is 5 8s if the candidate is able, but the schedule can be flexible to support 4 10-hour shifts when possible, especially if the candidate is willing or able to float to the Main OR.
