You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.

Required skills/experience: 2+ years acute OR experience. If candidate only has 2 years OR experience, must be high-level experience. First-time traveler? No, unless extensive OR and Peds experience (5+ years). Circulating the these case types: Neonates – 18; will see adult sized patients as well as infants and everything in between. Could see patients who are developmentally delayed and/or have congenital anomalies, Peds traumas – MVAs, GSWs, shaken baby, Neurosurgery – Cranies, EVDs, shunts, Spine – scoliosis repairs, spinal injuries, Urology – hyper/hypospadias repair, orchiopexy, orchiectomy, inguinal hernias, GYN – ovarian torsion, ovarian cyst, endometriosis lesions, IUD placements, Ortho – pinnings, ACL repairs, arthroscopies, hip osteotomies. Oncology – general, tumor resections. ENT – T/As, PE tubes, trachs. General – GI related surgeries (lap/open appies, lap/open cholies), other general cases.

Preferred skills/experience: Willing to consider candidates with adults + peds experience. Dental cases (preferred). Ophthalmology (preferred) – strabismus repairs. Robotics (preferred) – DaVinci XI. Highly preferred – IV starts, scrub experience, Robotics, high-level neuro.

Required Credentials: If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Shift & schedule requirements: Weekend rotation: Unlikely, but could be assigned a weekend shift if Weekend Staff are off. Typically only call on weekend. Approximately 2 weeknights (1900-0700) and 1 weekend (1900 F – 0700 M) every 6 weeks. 30-minute response time.

Floating requirements: PICU here to assist with procedure, NICU cases in Tacoma General (connected by walkway on same campus). Assist anesthesia with procedures (for example – assisting with intubations in MRI or IR)
