  • Pediatric experience required.

Unit Details:

  • Primarily outpatient, some acute care.
  • This position delegates responsibility to Occupational Therapist Assistants and aides. Activities are patient focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates patient function by performing formal and informal testing measures to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
  • Develops a goal-specific treatment regimen based on assessment data and the patient’s tolerance to carry out the treatment plan as prescribed.
  • Submits a written treatment regimen to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician; updates the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status; co-signs verbal orders received by occupational therapist assistant as necessary.
  • Devises a schedule of treatment that is frequency and duration specific to be discussed with the patient, family, or caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff.
  • Educates the patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions.
  • Provides supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per affiliate and regulatory standards.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • One weekend per month (Saturday).
  • No call.
