Travel Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Flu declinations accepted on condition traveler wears a mask at all times.

Required Skills/Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of (2) two years recent RN experience in the specialty that is being applied for in order to be considered; in some cases, more experience may be required.

Required Credentials:
PALS or ENPC is required.

Special Requests:
RTO is limited to a maximum of one (1) week, if needed.
No RTOs are acceptable for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Unit Details:
Nurses may be assigned to assist with COVID testing and/or immunization clinics as needed.

Shift & Scheduling:
Shifts may change during the contract and may need to cover day shift because the facility relies heavily on contractors, so as one leaves, someone’s shift may change to accommodate staffing needs.
Schedule is typically 7 on, 7 off.
Flexible contract hours: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.
Must be flexible to work other shifts, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
15-minute call response time for all units with a call requirement.

Floating Requirements:
All ED nurses are expected to rotate through the Main ED, ED Fast Track, and ED Observation Unit regularly.
Nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, COVID Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned a different area at minimum daily and may be rotated during their shift, depending on patient volume and unit needs.
Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented, such as answering call lights and phones.
