References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Heparin titrated drip based on PTT — must have heparin gtt experience.

Special Requests: Will block if it is possible with staffing.

Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios: days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6. Common diagnoses/types of patients: stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. RNs titrate drips. High flow for stable COVID patients only (rare). House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read their own strips. Uses Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. Every other holiday. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside of the general unit in urgent need, assignments would be limited to skills the clinician is competent to perform and paired with a nurse trained for that unit.
