Required Skills/Experience: Level III NICU experience providing care for high-risk newborns required.
Special Requests: First-time travelers require manager approval. Block scheduling and pattern scheduling are not guaranteed. Time-off requests require nurse manager approval.
Unit Details: Level III NICU caring for high-risk, critically ill preterm and term newborns requiring multi-system support. Respiratory support includes nasal cannula, CPAP, NAVA, conventional ventilation, oscillator ventilation, and nitric oxide. Experience with central lines including PICC, UAC, UVC, arterial lines, Broviac, chest tubes, NG/PO feedings, IV therapy including maintenance fluids, vasopressor support, sedation and paralytics, video EEG and cooling, and eat/sleep/console/treat. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Angel Eye milk tracker, GE B450 cardiac monitoring, Medela feeding pumps, and Artic Sun for cooling.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No set schedule; travelers are placed where needed. No call. Every other holiday, based on start date.
Floating Requirements: Float to the Women's Care Center for newborn care only. Additional floating may be needed to postpartum or L&D. Travelers float first.
