Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting IVs, heparin protocols, PCA, nasal cannula, and isolation precautions.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac telemetry and ER holding preferred.

Required Credentials: Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure. For MD locations – You must have compact license or MD license.

Special Requests: Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: This RN will assume care of admitted patients with varying diagnoses while they are boarding in the ED awaiting bed placement on an inpatient unit. Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Patient population includes neurology/stroke, orthopedics/limb, oncology, transplant, end stage liver disease, end stage kidney disease, and gastroenterology. Uses Pyxis. Assignments may include COVID-19 patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend.

Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
