Required Skills/Experience:
Prior travel experience is required.
Thoracic robot experience is required.
Required Credentials:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Special Requests:
An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
Unit Details:
The role involves efficiently setting up an operative suite for patients, checking case carts to ensure all supplies are available, scrubbing surgical cases in a variety of specialties, and turning over rooms for multiple procedures throughout the day.
The cardiothoracic service handles approximately 50–60 cases per month.
Downtime tasks include pulling case carts and cleaning.
Shift & Scheduling:
Monday–Friday schedule.
Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend.
Holiday rotation applies.
On-call requirements include 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week. The traveler must be ready and in the OR within a 30 min response time.
Additional mandated call may occasionally be required.
Travelers may be placed on call for low-census hours.
Weekly hours are not assured during the orientation week.
The unit is closed during holidays.
Floating Requirements:
May be required to float to all Central Aspirus locations if needed.
