You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience:
A minimum of 2 years current pediatric ICU, PACU, sedation or ED experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Peds ICU experience preferred.
Preferred Credentials:
Specialty certification preferred.
Shift & Scheduling:
Variable days Monday-Friday.
Possible call on weekends and nights, per manager.
Must cover 2 of the 3 winter holidays.
Unit Details:
Pre- and postoperative care to pediatric patients from birth to age 18. Patients 18 to 25 years old may receive care in the Short Stay Unit (SSU) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) based on their diagnosis and agreement with the anesthesia and nursing teams.
Special procedures/case mix includes cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology, dental, dermatology, endoscopy, gastroenterology, general surgery, hematology and oncology, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmic, oral and maxillofacial surgery, organ transplant, orthopedic, otolaryngology, plastics, podiatry, and urology.
Unit cares for cases involving chest tubes, extubation, Doppler intermittent and continuous monitoring, autism spectrum disorder, management of aggressive and violent patients, emergence delirium, laryngospasm, bronchospasm, central lines, suspected child abuse, trauma with cervical-spine precautions, thermoregulation, external ventricular drains, intracranial pressure monitoring, malignant hyperthermia, blood transfusion, point-of-care pregnancy testing, and halo traction.
Floating Requirements:
May float due to COVID census.
