Travel Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Required Skills/Experience:
At least 2 years of acute care OR experience is required.
RN experience with the listed case types and circulating is required.
For RNs, the most important experience areas are robotics, neuro, and trauma; neuro and robotics experience are required.
Strong DaVinci XI experience is required.
Must be able to work with robotics independently when taking robotics call.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
IV starts and scrub experience are preferred.

Special Requests:
Time-off requests must go through the manager.

Unit Details:
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to adults.
Case mix includes pediatric neuro (craniotomies and vault procedures), adult neuro (craniotomies, EVDs, shunts, and bolts), trauma, vascular, surgical oncology (Whipple), general, urology, gynecology, thoracic, robotics (gynecology, ENT, urology, and spine), ENT, orthopedics, orthopedic trauma, podiatry, dental, plastics, and breast cases.
Robotic cases may include draping the robot and exchanging instruments in the robot arms.
If assigned to OR North, case mix includes orthopedics, gynecology, general, breast, plastics, ENT, dental, spinal cord stimulator, and DaVinci XI/DV5 cases (general and gynecology only).
CVOR cases are performed in the department, but working in CVOR is not required.
Pyxis is used for medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend rotation is call only, with one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday): 0700-1900 or 1900-0700.
There is one overnight call shift per week, EOS-0700.
Call requires a 30-minute response time; no sleep rooms are available.
North late days involve late cases; OR Main cardiac is self-scheduled.
RNs could be on call for holidays.
Schedules are made one month at a time and provided one month before the schedule begins.
Call may be traded, but selling call to staff members is highly discouraged.

Floating Requirements:
Floats between Main OR and OR North at the same facility.
