Required Skills/Experience: If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) in an applicable care setting is required. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required. Strong cardiac monitoring skills, central/arterial line management, and pacemaker management.
Preferred Skills/Experience: 1 year of previous travel experience strongly preferred. Heart transplant experience preferred. ECMO experience is a plus, but not required.
Required Credentials: Student or Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN- formerly NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). ECG exam during orientation.
Unit Details: Highly specialized pediatric cardiac surgery intensive care unit providing advanced postoperative management of care.
Shift & Scheduling: Day/night rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every 3rd weekend. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week may be discussed and determined at offer.
Floating Requirements: Floating is required as needed to other areas within the Mayo Clinic Children’s Center. This may include NICU and general pediatric care areas.
